Everything You Need to Know

Do I need prior experience to join?

No prior experience is necessary for our Barista Foundations course. We welcome enthusiasts, career-switchers, and beginners who are passionate about coffee.

What kind of certification do I receive?

Upon completion, you receive a professional certificate from the Nairobi Institute of Coffee, signed by Esther Ochieng. Our curriculum is aligned with global SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) standards.

Are the classes practical or theoretical?

Our training is 80% practical. You will spend the majority of your time behind a machine or in the roasting lab to ensure you gain real-world muscle memory.

Can I visit the academy before enrolling?

Absolutely! We encourage potential students to book a tour of our Barista Lab in Westlands to see the equipment and meet the trainers.
